Brief ADHD Screening (Ages 18+)
This brief ADHD screening consultation is designed for adults aged 18 years and over who would like to discuss ADHD concerns with a psychologist.

The screening consultation focuses on identifying whether ADHD traits may be present, rather than providing a formal diagnosis.

What the Brief ADHD Screening Includes

The screening consultation includes:

• Completion of a validated ADHD screening questionnaire
• A 50-minute consultation to discuss your results and current concerns
• A brief summary letter outlining the screening results, which you may choose to share with your GP

Who This Service is For

If you are considering medication
If medication is something you may wish to explore, this screening can be a useful first step. Prescribing clinicians such as psychiatrists typically complete their own ADHD assessment before making decisions about medication.

This consultation may help clarify whether seeking further medical assessment could be appropriate.

Recent changes in ADHD prescribing in Australia
In some parts of Australia, GPs may undertake additional training that allows them to participate in the assessment and prescribing of ADHD medication under specific regulatory arrangements. Availability of these services varies between states and individual medical practices.

If medication is something you are considering, your GP may be able to advise you about local referral options or prescribing pathways.

If you are not seeking medication
Some people wish to explore ADHD traits before deciding whether to pursue a more comprehensive assessment.

If you are not currently interested in medication, a full ADHD assessment with a psychologist may also be an option.

Cost
$520
This fee includes the consultation, screening measure, and preparation of the summary letter.

Important Information

This service is intended as a screening and guidance consultation only. It does not involve a full diagnostic assessment, comprehensive report, or medication prescribing.

If you are seeking a formal ADHD diagnosis, detailed report, or documentation for workplace or study accommodations, a full ADHD assessment may be more suitable.
